Well, it is difficult to tell the exact age of the Bhagavad Gita due to the lack of definitive historical evidence.

However, it is generally agreed that the Gita was written between the 5th and 2nd centuries BCE.

Who is the author of Bhagavad Gita

In Hindu tradition, the sage Vyasa, also known as Krishna Dvaipayana Vyasa, is credited as the author of the entire Mahabharata, which includes the Bhagavad Gita.

However, the modern scholars view authorship differently: 

Vyasa might be considered a symbolic or mythical figure rather than a historical individual.

The Bhagavad Gita might have been composed over time by various authors and redacted into its current form by later compilers.

The Bhagavad Gita consists of 700 shlokas (verses). These verses are further divided into 18 chapters, each exploring various philosophical and religious concepts.

Where is original Bhagavad Gita kept

There is no clear answer to this question. As Bhagavad Gita is not a standalone manuscript and a part of Mahabharata, therefore there isn’t one definitive “original” Bhagavad Gita. However, many copies of the Bhagavad-Gita and the Mahabharata were preserved in palm leaves (which are difficult to preserve) across India and around the world in different libraries and institutions.
